Caramel Sauce
- ¼ cup (57 grams) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (220 grams) firmly packed light brown sugar
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Pinch salt
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, and stir to combine. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly (mixture will be thick). Carefully pour in cream (mixture will foam), vanilla, and salt. Remove from heat, and stir to combine. Let cool slightly. Pour into a glass jar, and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
